Production figures appear to be 5,000^[1] newly made bayonets,  with a further 565 being converted from obsolete Duke of Richmond bayonets.

These two pictures illustrate the small degree of  travel (about 15^o) of the basil locking ring.

Blade marked with maker 'WHEELER' ^[2],  Robert Wheeler,  Snow Hill, Birmingham,  noted between 1804 and 1830.
