This style of scabbard is believed to be the correct pattern issued for the New Land pattern bayonet, is is very similar to the 1815 Baker scabbard in all respects except length.
Body of leather marked with a 'Crown' stamp above the frog stud and a broad arrow board of ordnance 'B/|\O' mark, thus showing its official approval. The rear of the scabbard is stitched, unlike other contemporary British scabbards which are stitched to the left of the frog stud. The frog stud is also different being less elongated.
