Another version is recorded with a Bugle rather than horn centre, and a title “THE DURHAM Lt Inf” over “REGIMENT”, described as possibly a prototype from the Gaunt collection. PHOTO NEEDED.

This is possibly the centre for the Other Ranks buckle for the 3rd Corps (The Sunderland) Durham Rifle Volunteers, became the 3rd Volunteer Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry in 1887.
